Each of the blog posts on this site are taken verbatim from the journals of Ralph Coltman, easily split into manageable sections. The original journals consist of 10 volumes, the first taking the reader from 1804 to 1946. So you can imagine it will take some time to completely transcribe all the journals, but we aim to upload at least one new blog post every few months if not more often. Please note that there will be spelling and grammatical mistakes in the blog posts. This is because they are typed exactly how Ralph wrote them, to keep them authentic.
We retain the copyright for the contents of all our blogs and pictures used on this website. All pictures are from our own family archives, or are pictures we have taken ourselves of items on public display or of the actual journals themselves. Whilst we encourage readers of our blog to learn from Ralph's chronicles, we'd appreciate it if you'd please contact us if you wish to use any of the information contained for your own projects. We'll also be happy to send copies of the original pages, for school projects for example, please just drop us a line and let us know what items you need.
